6th Grade - 6E
Hi! My name is Mrs. Gay. I grew up in Burlington, IA. After graduating from BHS, I attended and graduated with my Associates of Arts (AA) Degree from Southeastern Community College. I continued my education at Northwest Missouri State University (NWMSU) where I graduated with a major in Elementary Education and a minor in Coaching.
I began my teaching career as a 6th grade teacher at Mormon Trail in Humeston , IA from 2005-2007. Then I began teaching at Clarke Elementary in the fall of 2007. While I have taught 6th grade during all of my years in teaching, this will be my first year teaching both "Math" and "LANGUAGE ARTS/WRITING" as this will be our second year being departmentalized.
My husband, Doug, and I have two beautiful children. Our daughter, Natalie Grace, was born 2-17-2012; our son, Aaron Douglas, was born 11-29-13. We enjoy spending time together as a family at the park, playgrounds, pool, and even in our own backyard.
I look forward to working with my students this year on becoming better Math students and writers, while incorporating the 7 Habits that our school uses on a daily basis. Let's synergize and make this the best year ever!!
